Ahoy!! Last week, Mrs. Smith's fourth-grade class spent time learning about pirates. The ramp was turned into a ship with boxes of cargo, a mast, and splashing waves. The class was excited to find the room decorated with Jolly Roger flags and other items of pirate lore. Fourth graders spent the week reading about the Golden Age of Piracy, famous pirates, unfound treasures, and pirate code. They collaborated on solving swashbuckling puzzles and even earned their own share of treasure. Then they took their turn at creating their own pirate tale and treasure maps. What an adventure!
